Your questions

Kids, or one on the way

How much should go in the RESP?

The basic grant applies to the first $2,500 per child each year. Missed years can partly be caught up: the plan works out the amount that collects everything still available.

My kids are older. Is it too late?

Grants are paid until the end of the year the child turns 17. The plan shows what’s left to collect for each one.

A baby is on the way. Does the plan count it?

Yes: under “A baby on the way?”, give the year and month it’s due. Your free plan then counts the RESP grants from the birth and the extra child benefits; Plus plans the parental leave, week by week.

What about parental leave?

In Québec it’s QPIP. Plus puts the leave in your plan: the months of benefits, what to set aside before, and what starts again after.

Are child benefits counted?

Yes, from the sample family’s income and the current benefit year’s rules. Your plan uses your own answers.
